PHOENIX -- lying: v: the deliberate act of deviating from the truth [Dictionary.com]
Jon Kyl's campaign again lied about Jim Pederson's position on Iraq today to try to deflect attention from revelations about Kyl's craven partisan behavior when a Democrat was in the White House and U.S. troops were in the field. Clearly, the Kyl campaign is frustrated that Pederson hasn't taken the position they would like him to take, so they have decided to make one up for him.
During conflicts in Bosnia and Somalia, Kyl questioned President Clinton, something he is unwilling to do of President Bush.
"...It ought to be a message that we oppose this particular commitment of troops both in terms of the lack of clarity of mission and exit strategy and of the premise for the mission in the first place, and that is that it is essential for United States ground troops to be a part of the so-called peacekeeping effort, or else it will fail." [The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, 12/12/95]
HOLY SMOKES!
Thats just mean...

(Phoenix--June 26, 2006)--Charging a United States Senator's campaign of lying is a serious matter, particularly for a challenger attempting to demonstrate his credibility with the press and the public. On Friday, June 23, Jim Pederson issued a press release charging that Senator Kyl's campaign "released a letter that lies about Jim Pederson's position on Iraq." [Pederson Press Release, June 23, 2006]. Here is what the letter, signed by more than 65 veterans statewide, said about Pederson's position: "If Jim Pederson wanted to truly `honor the sacrifice of soldiers and Marines in Iraq,' he would not support a withdrawal from Iraq until the job is finished, and he certainly would not invoke the name of our troops in his partisan attacks." (emphasis added). The question is therefore whether Jim Pederson has advocated withdrawing from Iraq regardless of whether the job is finished.
It is telling when a state has 500,000 veterans and the major Senate campaign only has 65 veterans to sign onto a list. I am wondering if Pederson can put together a bigger list, it can't be that hard.
I mean seriously, in the wake of swift boats and Veterans for Bush, the BEST the Kyl campaign could do is 65 veterans?
That is seriously pathetic!!!
